One of the title sequences that i chose to analyse was 'Four in the morning'. Considering that the shots within this title sequence are similar i decided to analyse the sequence as a whole.

Firstly, the first thing to approach the audience within the title sequence is a white silhouette of a pig (Shown in shot 1). This immediately evokes mystery from the demographic as they are unaware of what it could possibly mean. The audience have a degree of omniscience here as again, they are blind to the realism. Within further shots, the silhouette of the pig is seen within different locations such as the subway (Shot 3), wandering the streets (Shot 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11) and in a garage full of cars (Shot 9). These shots show that the pig is adventurous and an explorer, further maybe foreshadowing what events may happen within the show. Due to the pig being alone these shots also connote bravery, a trait that we may find within the characters of the show. Possibly, the title sequence here may represent the different characters the audience will meet later, showing their traits such as being brave, adventurous and mysterious, further portraying that she show may include a lot of adventure and mystery.

Within shot 2, the silhouette is placed in front of a grocery store with a lot of graffiti on it The graffiti shows the audience that the setting for this show may be in a lower class place, in which people graffiti for fun. The building seems to be old and abandoned and not appealing, again connoting that the area is in somewhat unsafe and lower class. This graffiti then appears again in Shot 8 , adding on to the point that the area which it is set in will include a lot of this behaviour. This again can link and foreshadow that a lot of vandalism and maybe graphic behaviour may occur later on.

The title sequence begins with a warm hue showing that it is daytime but then further goes on to transform to night, shot by shot. Low key lighting is then used to portray that it is dark, conveying dangers that could possibly arise. The fact that the show is called 'Four in the morning' (Shot 12) shows parallels between darkness and time, allowing the audience to understand that the show will be set at night, possibly at four in the morning.

Within the title sequence the bright and neon colours are moving. This could be the idea that the city the pig is in, is alive. It appears on shop windows (Shot 6), bike wheels (Shot 10) and trains (Shot 7). This immedielty converts the audiences expectations of the city from being boirng to being fun and alive. These bright and neon colours connote fun and adventure due to them being exciting and colourful. This enables the audience to have a degree of omniscience as the objects behind the colour are not visible. This then creates suspense and questions as to what they are, giving the title sequence mystery.
