Polaroid- 5 Minute film idea.

Polaroid

Scene 1


INT, Living room, DAYTIME.

An establishing medium shot of Chris tied to a chair with a bag over his head. 


Voiceover:
If you ever wake up, after being knocked out, and you find a gun pointed in your face, you've probably made a few bad life choices.

Medium shot of the bag being pulled off Chris' head, revealling blood and bruises on his face.



Voiceover: 
My hobby is taking pictures of children. No, not in the way that you might be thinking.

Turns his head to the camera, breaking the fourth wall. Close up shot is used.



Chris:
Although, some people dont quite understand that, and that's why i'm here.

Turns head 180 degrees, with a focus pull revealing the polaroid picture of the missing child on the wall. 



Intro sequence begins. 

Scene 2

INT: Chris' kitchen, LATE AFTERNOON.
Medium shot of Chris stirring a cup of tea. Focus on the noise of the spoon and cup of tea with diegetic background noise of news on the TV.

Camera pans into the living room, following Chris. Small talk with him and his girlfriend.

Jenny:
 Thanks, love. 
As Chris hands her the cup.

News about young girl comes on TV.  



Jenny:
Isnt that the girl that you were photographing in the park the other day? 

Close up shot of Chris drinking his tea with no reply.

Jenny turns the TV up, diegetic sound of news report is now louder to both of the characters and the audience.
News reporter:

Alice Smith has now been pronunced missing. She was last seen with her parents at Wilthorpe park, Barnsley. Police said no CCTV footage has been found surrounding the area. Please call 999 immedietley if you think that you may witnessed anything suspicious She was last seen wearing a yellow top, white cardigan and light blue jeans. 

Panning shot going from the picture of the girl on the TV to a wall filled with polaroid's, including one of the young girl on the TV.


Long shot of Chris then walking past the polaroid and into the kitchen again, with the TV on in the background again.


Scene 3

(Montage of Chris' Day that day, is almost as if its his mind telling us what he did.

INT, House, DAYTIME.


This montage is very fast pace and edited so that it can go very quickly, only giving the audience short snaps of what he does to get ready.


Chris is seen wake up and get out of bed.

This is followed by him getting showered.
This is then followed by him doing his teeth.
This is then followed by him doing his hair.
This is then followed by him getting dressed.
This is then followed by him eating breakfast.
This is then followed by him picking up his camera and accessories along with it.
This is then followed by him kissing his wife and closing the door.

Scene 4

EXT, Park, DAYTIME.

Scene begins with a bright flash directly into the camera, as if it was a flash of Chris' camera, this also is paired with the noise of a picture being taken for us to understand more.



Chris:
Chris then is seen take the polaroid out and a POV shot is used of him looking at it, the audience is anticipated to see what it is however it is just a picture of some flowers.
An extreme long shot is then used of Chris squatting down on the floor, looking at the photos. A figure is seen watching him from in between the trees. Chris is also seen walk off within this shot down a path and the man is seen following him.
Alice:
Alice is seen playing in the grass and picking flowers from a variety of shots, this shows her innocence to the audience. 

Chris:

Chris is then seen through a long shot changing position to get a good view of Alice. This makes the audience question who he really is. 

Mysterious man:

Close up shots of the mysterious man are used in order to leave his identity unknown to the audience, this insludes shots of eyes, shoes etc. 

Chris:

That's it, pick up the flowers.

Alice is seen picking up the flowers through a long shot while Chris is seen preparing his camera.  

Chris:


Beautiful, big smiles. 3,2,1 say cheese.


Even though Alice is unaware that her photo is being taken, Chris still proceeds to pretend to be a photographer. Despite people thinking he is a pedophile, there is a story behind the subject that nobody knows.


Chris then takes the photo of Alice and after the flash she has disapeered completely from the shot. 


Scene 5
Ext- Outside in park, DAYTIME.
Chris:

Shit, shit... shit. 

Chris begins to walk off very tense, while the dark figure follows him down the street.

Mysterious man:

A shot is then seen of the dark figures body walking very close to Chris. Then a close up shot is used of the man putting a bag over Chris' head. He is then seen through a long shot getting placed in a van.

Scene 6
INT- Van, DAYTIME.

Chris is seen in the van not being spoken to at all to show his journey.

Scene 7
EXT- Outside, DAYTIME.

Mysterious Man:
Leads Chris out of the car and begins to walk to a door, you see Chris struggle however the man says something to him the audience are unaware of.
Scene 8
INT- House, DAYTIME.

Chris:
Although, some people dont quite understand that, and that's why i'm here. I lost my daughter a year ago, her name was Lily. I lost her and I lost all the photographs, so now if I see a child that looks like Lily, I take a photo of her. Because part of me believes that it is my Lily, they always seem to go missing when I do it, and I don't understand why.

Turns head 180 degrees, with a focus pull revealing the polaroid picture of the missing child on the wall.
