Chosen Certificate for our film.

For our certificate of film we chose 12a. This is because within our film we include a lot of mature themes we believe that are appropriate for age 12 and over. Our film will include drinking and small references to drugs, therefore we needed to choose a suitable age who are mature enough to understand the references used. Our film also includes references to rape, therefore limiting our audience to 12 and over can mean that teenagers are able to understand and notice the dangers. Our audience are expected to already have prior  knowledge on the subject when watching the film, therefore making it easier for them to understand towards the end. We may also include minor use of foul language as within context it is acceptable and accurately portrays our two main characters relationship with each other. Having it as a 12a not only means we can entertain but we can educate our demographic about the dangers also.
